Edward was born in New York and at the age of 18 he joined the U.S. Army and served for two years. In 1952 Edward left the Army and started his own construction company in Long Island, New York, called Community Carpentry. He served all of Long Island until 1971 when he and his wife Maryann decided to pick up their family and move to San Diego. Upon relocating to San Diego, Edward then received his B License, changed the name of his business from Community Carpentry to Budget Carpentry and served all of San Diego until he retired and handed over the reigns of the company to his sons, John and James. His certifications included the following:

Classification C54 (Tile).
